This resource provides guidance for DFAT officers and development partners to meet the requirements of Australia’s International Development Policy by developing quality program outcomes that address the nexus of gender equality and climate change, and support meaningful and impactful participation by people with disabilities. This resource can help DFAT staff and program designers to understand how gender equality and climate change intersect in all major sectors of Australia’s development program, and to design investment outcomes that address both priorities. It is a resource to inform the program logic and to meet the DFAT Design and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Standards.
On December 6th 2024 DFAT held a webinar on Outcomes at the Nexus which explored Australia’s integrated policy approach to tackling climate change while promoting gender equality and disability equity. Understanding the intersection of these two critical issues is essential for designing effective development programs and activities. The webinar introduced two resources, the DFAT Outcomes at the Nexus Handbook and the Chroma Collective, Iris Group's Gender and Green Agenda Framework.
