This study explores how the right to the city (as a universal human right) applies to rural women who experience multiple social disadvantages. Based on interviews with 32 WWD in rural areas it analyses the perceptions of the problems faced by these women in accessing urban resources and services. It was found that the urban-rural divide combined with inequitable and ableist power relations contributed to the violations of the rights of WWD within cities.
