This gender analysis published by Gender in Emergencies Group (GiE) provides a progressive series of gender analysis reports to inform the humanitarian response to a 7.7 magnitude earthquake which struck Myanmar on 28 March 2025. It follows the Gender in Crisis: Infographic (28th March 2025) and the Gender in Briefs at organisational level including from Plan International. This RGA Brief was developed using a mixture of qualitative and quantitative secondary data sources. The secondary data review was a collective process with different experts working on different sectors/sections. Assessment findings and recommendations were shared by Feminist Funds including the Global Resilience Fund, Urgent Action for Women’s Human Rights Asia & Pacific, and Women’s Fund Asia. The analysis took place over four days from 28-31 March 2025. It was reviewed by gender experts from Myanmar.
