The Framework and Strategy draws on IWDA’s almost 40 years of partnership experience, a wealth of literature, feedback from our grantee partner organisations and an external independent review by Majority World decolonial experts. This document is divided into two sections: a framework and a strategy. The framework provides conceptual guidance, establishing a common language and understanding of how IWDA approaches whiteness, coloniality, and decolonisation. The strategy identifies necessary sites of transformation, outlines IWDA’s decolonial practice principles and commitments, and details how progress will be measured and accountability ensured. While the framework will evolve with the sector and ongoing analysis, the strategy is fixed and will be updated alongside future Strategic Plans.
