GENDER EQUALITY AND DISABILITY INCLUSION GUIDELINES TO ADDRESS THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS WITH DISABILITIES

The purpose of these guidelines is to inform developing member country (DMC) officials, practitioners, clients, and ADB staff on key issues that create barriers for women and girls with disabilities in development programs, as well as provide an understanding of strategies to empower women with disabilities in their roles as community members, family members, workers, and leaders in all aspects of society. The guidelines were developed through a desk review and a set of interviews with ADB staff and external stakeholders from organizations working in the disability and gender inclusion space. This included speaking to women with lived experience of diverse forms of disability in the Asia and Pacific region.
